Education and Training
Dr. Deib’s journey began with his Medical Degree from The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he laid a strong foundation in clinical sciences. He then pursued advanced training in the United Kingdom, completing Basic Surgical Training (with Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh), followed by specialist training (Residency) in Clinical Radiology at the University of Manchester. To further hone his specialized skills in neuroradiology, Dr. Deib completed prestigious Fellowships (in Neuroradiology at the University of Virginia and Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology and PET-CT/Nuclear Imaging at Johns Hopkins University), two of the world’s leading institutions for neurological imaging and interventions.
Certifications
Dr. Deib is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology. His fellowship training ensures he is proficient in both diagnostic imaging and interventional techniques, allowing him to deliver comprehensive care from diagnosis to treatment. Dr. Deib has also achieved a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) qualification from the World Institute of Pain (WIP).
Professional Experience
With extensive experience in neuroradiology and interventional procedures, Dr. Deib has held academic and clinical roles that underscore his commitment to excellence. In addition to establishing Suncoast Spine and Pain Institute, he practises as a Neurointerventionalist at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital where he helped establish the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in Seminole county. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at West Virginia University, where he contributed to medical education, research, and patient care. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, with over 30 works cited more than 400 times, focusing on topics such as novel imaging modalities and guidance systems for neurointervention.
By practicing in multiple locations across Central Florida, including Sanford and The Villages, Dr Deib aims to ensure accessible care for patients dealing with spine-related pain and neurological disorders.
